A little optimistic, I feel. The gist seems to be that "OPML will be big because RSS is big." How about the idea that OPML won't be (as) big *because* RSS is *already* big?
cf. VHS vs Betamax, perhaps. Certainly the relative obscurity of Ogg Vorbis considering mp3's popularity.
Or maybe I'm just stuck in a Linux-related rut in that I haven't (been able to) play with it yet. Not only that, but the OPML site really doesn't get me excited:
"OPML an XML-based format that allows exchange of outline-structured information between applications running on different operating systems and environments."
Uh, yay? Who knows? "Different" certainly seems to be readable as "two" currently, anyway.
It might be great, it might be useful, but I think there's a lot standing in the way, as it is.
